Ice Cream and Laughter!
The other day we were all at Grandma Smith;s house eating Fat Boy ice cream bars. Ethan was downstairs when we got them out so he didn't have won. He came upstairs and saw all of us with ice cream and he says "Hey why don't I get a fat kid? Where are the fat kids? Can I have a fat kid?" He is such a funny kid.

The Star-Spangled Banner

At Ahlea and Ethan's school, every mornig the say The Pledge of Allegiance and sing our national anthem. They love to sing this all over the house. We had a reunion over Memorial Day and Grandpa Smith asked me and the kids to sing this at the reunion. Ahlea stood up there with us, but was to affraid to sing. Ethan on the other had held the microphone and belted out the most wonderful rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. He did an amazing job. I am thankful for this great nation that we live in and for the great school district we live in that gives them the opportunity to learn such a great song.
Holy Cow
Traysen is now 18 months old (yah for nursery). He is starting to talk and he says the funniest things. He can say "Thankyou, Cheese, Cookie, uh oh wawa", and last but not least "Holy Cow". He says this one when he is excited or when he sees the ceiling fan. He is such a cute kid.

Where is YOUR tar located????
Ethan is my deep thinker. He will come up to me often and ask the funniest questions. His question this time was "Mom if you get the tar kicked out of you, where is your tar at?" I tried really hard not to giggle at this. He is such a cute kid.

Vampires at Softball Games?!?!
Ethan is my spots nut. He loves everything about every sport (except wrestling, when is half time?)We are now in the middle of softball season and he loves going to the games. Ahlea runs and plays in the dirt, Ethan has to bring his softball, mitt, bat, helmet, and batting gloves (his knit winter gloves) He will either play softball or sit right next to me and watch the game. When he watches the game he knows how many strikes, how many balls, how many outs, what the score is, and everything else you can imagine. At one of the games this last week he asked the funniest question. Mom why are there vampires at the baseball game. What?!?!? I did not see any Edward Cullens running around the ball field. Then I realized he was talking about the umpires. I tried as hard as I could not to laugh at my amazing child.

Where's the Baby!!!!
Have you ever had the experience when all is silent and you ask "where did the baby go?" This happened to me the other day. I was busy working on the computer and Traysen had been playing right by me. I suddenly realized that it was quiet and I had no idea where he was. I got up and looked in the play room and Ethan's room. Then I run upstairs starting to panic a little. I search all the rooms and no baby. I go down stairs to see if I missed him somewhere down there. As I walk into the family room I see him 2 feet from the computer where I had been working. This is what I found:

He had climbed onto the couch and from the couch to the hope chest and from the hope chest to the chair with the blanket and feel peacefully asleep. What a cutie!

Bed "Underlings"
So Saturday was a long day without Terence. He was coaching softball at an ALL DAY tournament. (He came home sunburned on his forehead and nose.) I decided that we were going to have a cleaning day. I assigned all of the chores:
Ahlea - clean room and toy room
Ethan - clean room and toy room
Mom - kitchen, dinning room, front room, sweep, mop, vacuum, fold laundry, make dinner, and clean bedroom.
At first all they wanted to do was play and complain about how hard their chores were. I finally told them that they had two choices they could do their chores and then play, OR they could sit on the couch and do nothing but sit. Ethan right away decided that he was going to clean so that he could play. Ahlea on the other hand sat on the couch and complained that it wasn't fair that she was forced to sit on the couch and do nothing. Ethan cleaned quickly and quietly and he was done. Ahlea then got really mad because Ethan was playing and she was still sitting on the couch. She finally decided that it might be a better choice to start cleaning. She did great in the toy room, but by the time she got to her room all she wanted to do was shove everything under her bed. When I told her that she had to get everything out from under the bed and put it away, she got mad and yelled "the only reason beds have underlings is to put stuff under it." She did finally finish! I am happy to say that my house is pretty clean right now. If you want to see, you better hurry because the magic lasts only until midnight not a minute more.
