New Hair Cuts

I have the greatest beautician here in town. She does great haircuts and her price in fantastic. $14 for adults and $10 for kids. Ahlea is my tom-boy for sure, and getting to comb her hair is like pulling teeth, so we decided to go with something really short. Ethan has the world's craziest cowlick right in the front. We have tried keeping really short, his hair is so blonde that it looks like he has no hair at all. So we are trying longer hair. It now looks like he has a tidal wave on his forehead. I think it is pretty cute.

Little Guys....We've all got one

The other day Ethan and Ahlea were rough housing and Ethan got a bloody nose. After all the blood was cleaned up he informed us that he knew how you got bloody noses.
Ethan: Mom I know how you get a bloody nose.
Me: How do you get a bloody nose? (I was expecting something like When your sister kicks you in the face.)
Ethan: The little guy up in your nose opens the door and lets the blood out and then when it all comes out he closes the door again.
Me: How does the little guy get up there?
Ethan: He is just born there.

So now you know the real reason that sometimes your nose itches or you have to sneeze, its that little guy up there causing havoc to entertain himself.

Headaches and Sponge Bob

The Other day I told Ethan that we needed to run a few errands before Ahlea got home from school. He was not to happy because he does not like to run errands. I finally got him into the car and through the first stop. I then told him that we needed to stop and Grandma's house really quick to pick something up. He suddenly groaned and began to talk in his sick voice. This is how the conversation played out:
Me: "what's the matter Ethan?"
Ethan: "moooooom my head hurts really bad right back here."
Me: "Oh no what are we going to do?"
Ethan: "I might have to lay on Grandmas couch and watch sponge bob while you go to the grocery store. I don't think that I will be able to make it."
I tried really hard not to not laugh at his desperate plea to watch cartoons over going to the grocery store. He told grandma his sob story about his headache way in the back and that the only cure was to lay on her couch and watch sponge bob. She giggled and told him that she would love for him to stay and get better. What a compassionate Grandma. I have great news to report! The couch and cartoons cured my little boy and he is back to normal!!

Wonderful Moments

This morning was rather crazy at our house. We had been out late the night before, we slept in a little, and the kids missed the bus. I was running around trying to get the kids ready for school and into the car. It was very cold and foggy. As I was driving all I could think about was my day and the things that needed to be done. This is when my wonderful moment came. Ahlea asked me "mom why are the trees so beautiful today?" As I looked at the trees I saw that there was frost that covered them and made them look like they were from so movie set. They were beautiful! She then commented on how even the weeds were pretty. The rest of the drive to school was peaceful as we looked at the gifts that our Father in Heaven has given us. I am very thankful to my Heavenly Father for the beautiful trees that we saw this morning, but more importantly, I am thankful for the wonderful moment I had with my daughter.

Church or Football

Today when after I picked up Ethan from Kinderagrten, he asked if we were going to church on Sunday. I told him, yes Ethan we always go to church on Sunday. He then started to panic and said, "I can't go, the Eagles are playing the Giants!! When I told him that we don't miss church for football he replied, but it's the Eagles. As if I hadn't heard the importance before. I told him that I was sure we would be home before the game started. I don't know how many 5-year-old boys even know who the Eagles or the Giants are and the fact that they are playing each other on Sunday. What a dilemma!

The Troubles of a 5-year-old Boy

All of my children have been very excited for Christmas to get here. On Christmas Eve there is a website that tracks Santa Claus and where he is at. Ethan was very interested in this and wanted us to sit down and watch the computer and tell him where Santa was at. As the day went by and it was getting closer to bed time, Ethan was so excited because he was getting closer. We were all upstairs and suddenly we heard a cry coming from downstairs. HELP! HE'S MOVING AND I CAN'T READ!!!!! Daddy went downstairs to save the day to let Ethan know that santa was in Vermont. Don't worry Ethan boy this time next year you will be reading and all your troubles will go away.
